This article studies the manifestation of the motivational perceptional feature in dialect nominations of animals and plants, which is important in terms of anthropocentric approach to studying the manifestation of the biomorphic code in the dialect worldview. The study focuses on cognitive mechanisms for building folk phytonyms and zoonyms, that emerge as a result of human perceptive activities. The article’s goal is to determine their ethnical identity in Kuban sub-dialects. The cognitive method, component analysis method, ethnical and etymological analysis and context analysis are the main methods of this study. The article demonstrates that perception – being the vital mechanism of interaction between village people and nature, their day-to-day existence environment – is the essence of knowing and categorizing the world. It shows, that linguistic materials contain all types of perception (visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile, taste). It identifies the quantitative scope of lexical-semantic groups, formed depending on perception mode. Verbalization of sensations is possible via the perception contexts, which embody the linguistic consciousness of dialect carriers. The results received can be used in cognitive studies of regional worldviews. The article’s central conclusion is the existence of various ethnicity-specific images of plants and animals in dialect worldview of Kuban region inhabitants based on identified motivational features of perceptional nature.
