Development of the system of indicators for assessing the quality of electronic courses in LMS Moodle

The task of analyzing the statistics of digital footprints left by e-course participants in the database of the educational portal on the learning management system (LMS) Moodle platform consider in order to form a system of measurable indicators that allow evaluating the quality of e-courses. The relevance of the problem of objective automated assessment of the quality of electronic courses actively created in the modern educational portal of the university is determined by the fact that without its solution it is almost impossible to build an effective system of high-quality electronic support for academic disciplines of educational programs of the university. The novelty of the solution proposed in the work consists in the creation of software tools that allow automating the receipt/measurement of indicator values, allowing the formation of reasonable criteria for objective assessment and ranking of electronic courses according to their ability to provide effective support for the educational process. It is proposed to form such indicators based on the analysis of digital traces of the activities of e-course participants recorded in the Moodle system database when working with course elements implementing certain types of educational activities. The result of the work is the practical development of queries to the database of the university portal based on LMS Moodle and the creation of plug-ins embedded in the portal that allow extracting from the database and forming for each electronic course a detailed system of indicators. Indicators characterizing the actual ability of courses to provide quality digital support for the learning process. The data set obtained using the implemented tools is exported to the Excel spreadsheet format for subsequent analytical processing of the measured characteristics of courses and their elements in various sections (relevance of courses to certain departments, to educational programs and academic disciplines, the degree of usefulness of using educational elements of different types in courses, the quality of the implemented courses control and measuring materials, etc.).
