SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND ADAPTIVE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR DEVELOPING ECO-FRIENDLY LOCOMOTIVES

Abstract

To ensure sustainable development of transport, a systemic analysis of the relevant socio-economic processes is necessary, primarily with a view to minimizing damage to the environment. This goal is served by the requirements for the environmental friendliness of locomotives contained in regional and national standards for permissible emissions of the main harmful substances - nitrogen and carbon oxides, hydrocarbons and solid particles. However, these requirements have not changed for decades. Therefore, they do not create incentives for the use of new, more environmentally friendly technologies in the development of new locomotives. Nevertheless, subsystems for improving these requirements, as well as subsystems for managing their implementation in the development of new locomotives, have not yet been developed. The paper presents a systemic analysis of the requirements for emissions in locomotive exhaust gases of the main harmful substances specified in national and regional standards of countries with developed locomotive manufacturing, during the period when these environmental standards remain unchanged. Based on these requirements, standards for specific average weighted emissions of the main harmful substances have been formed. The environmental category of each such indicator is determined by comparing its actual value with the corresponding standard. By combining the categories of different indicators, the environmental friendliness category of the developed locomotive as a whole is determined. This category is taken into account when holding a competition to improve the environmental friendliness of the developed locomotives. Depending on the results of the competition, innovation developers, production personnel, ecologists and managers are stimulated. Subsystems for determining the categories of emission indicators and combining them, as well as the competitive subsystem in aggregate form a mechanism for managing the development of environmentally friendly locomotives. It is based on the definition of environmental friendliness categories of locomotives, illustrated by examples from domestic and foreign practice. The results of the system analysis of socio-economic processes obtained in the work were used in the development of the concept of requirements for locomotives in the field of environmental protection adopted by JSC Russian Railways.
