Abstract

In the work the process for receiving granulated activated carbons using potassium hydroxide as
inorganic addition is investigated. Activation step had special attention for researchers. It is established
that including of kali in carbon-tar paste in certain quantities don't lead to essential changes in qualify of
carbonized granules while as activation hold time decreases. In this case abrasion resistance rests about
90%. It is also noted that due to additions of potassium hydroxide volume of mesopores increases ~ in 2
times and volume of macropores decreases ~ in 2,5 times and in case of KOH addition above 1,5%
development of micropores dominates
