Abstract

The remains of Triturus sp. (cf. Triturus cristatus (Laurenti)), Bufo bufo (L.), Rana arvalis Nilsson, Rana temporaria L., Anguis fragilis L., Elaphe sp. and Natrix sp. are determined in the fossil herpetofauna of Andronovo locality. The bones of the detected species, as well as the anomalous vertebrae of tailless amphibians are described, the taphonomy of the burial is analyzed, the paleogeographic situation during the burial of the herpetofauna is discussed, the geological age of the herpetofauna is justified.
