Abstract

Purpose : this article defines the role of small and medium-sized businesses in the formation of a competitive environment. Discussion : identifying the parameters that characterize small and medium business, allows distinguishing several important indicators. These parameters include structural characteristics of small and medium-sized businesses, factors that affect on small and medium business and possible directions for development. The authors talk about the role of technology parks and business incubators as elements of supporting business. Results : small and medium businesses have limited access to resources. Therefore, support for the development of these areas of business is a necessary condition.
