Preconditions of forming regional growth points in the service sphere

Abstract

Purpose: the authors aim to substantiate the expediency of forming growing points in the service sector in Russia on the base of the analysis of global statistic data of service sphere portion in GDP, also the share of industrial and agricultural regions of Russia in their full number. Discussion: the authors prove that such spheres as trade, finance, consulting cannot be the points of growth due to their specificity, they are not able to become the primary catalysts for the development of the region. The article shows, that geographical and climatic specifics of Russia territories lead to their unique transport and traditional touristic potential. So, the minority of regions of the country have such a potential. Results: the authors proved that the spheres of engineering and development / redevelopment are the most prospective service segments, which can form the basis for creation of growth points in regions of Russia.
