Abstract
Purpose: Review of economic and mathematical models and methods used in tourist areas analysis. Discussion: Based on Russian and foreign scientists papers, we identified the following main types of models: econometric, spatial optimization, qualitative models, game theory and the diffusion of innovation, and also method with applying information technology. Results: The analysis of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and limitations of applying the proposed models and methods. The conclusions have been made upon the most promising and relevant methods of tourist activity assessment.
