The role of top management of universities and research institutions
Abstract
Purpose: to discuss approaches that to the formation of top management in organizations of the scientific and educational sphere in Russia in the context of the idea of managerialism. Discussion: the author comes to the conclusion that the existing approaches to the selection of top management (chief executives with a management team) have not changed much since the Soviet era, both from the authorities and the team. Results: аs a mandatory criterion, necessary for top management of organizations in the scientific and educational sphere, there should be a higher economic education or a degree in the field of economic sciences, which will significantly improve the quality of their management and economic decisions.
