"Industrial upgrade" on the example of the machine-building industry: experience and prospects

Abstract

Importance: «industrial upgrade» as a subject of research is a process of updating the industrial sector of the national economy of the country, taking into account the prevailing economic conditions and directions of development of the technological component of business. At the same time, the factor of digital transformation in combination with the principles of combining the interests of society and the preservation of natural capital acquires a certain importance. Purpose: the study of the mechanism of industrial modernization by the example of the activities of machine-building enterprises to solve the problems of adaptation of production to current and future changes based on the study of practical experience and forecast plans for innovative development of the industry. Research design: the authors substantiate the need to search for promising approaches related to the modernization procedure of machine-building enterprises, which requires industry representatives to have the skills to conduct transformational processes, thereby forming the procedure of «industrial upgrade». It is assumed that the transformational transformation model includes consideration of the driving forces of «Industry 4.0» related to the mechanism of using the advantages of digital engineering, lean manufacturing and «end-to-end» technologies based on the analysis of practical cases. Results: the most important aspects of the transformation of the machine-building industry that ensure the innovative development of industrial enterprises are considered. The analysis of the experience of Russian companies in the framework of the transition to the concept of «Industry 4.0» confirms the relevance of studying the topic of «industrial upgrade». An approach to the actual restructuring of industrial production in the format of a structural model of «industrial upgrade» is proposed.
