Abstract

The article deals with the concept of «network» and the classification of network structures. Having studied the conditions and prerequisites for the formation of networks, assumptions are made about the prospects for the development of this form of integration interaction of the subjects of the regional economy. The role of universities in the formation of network structures that meet the requirements of innovative development of the region's economy is studied. On the basis of the factual material the features of the economic space of the region, formed under the influence of the dominant role of universities as providers of new knowledge, experience and technologies, are investigated.
