The need to highlight the issue of assessing the social resource of a business is determined by the production significance of its use. Awareness of the concept, its essence, possible forms and methods of working with a social resource will allow to increase business success, more specifically to plan forthcoming actions and their consequences. Business as a whole understands the importance of applying a social resource to the fact of a specific activity, since tangible costs are required and the results are visible. The society, state and municipal management bodies, business activities related to the social resource are appreciably evaluated as sponsorship or charity, and are by definition not industrial activities, and therefore are not related to direct production costs, which affects the state regulation regimes . The article assesses the social resource of business in such key areas as qualitative and quantitative assessment of personnel, the standard of living of employees of organizations, their provision with social infrastructure facilities. The considered practical approach to the assessment of a social resource can be applied not only at the macro level, but also at the level of the region and the specific organization.
