Abstract

Introduction. In a situation of structural changes in the environment and limited financing, any organisation must ensure the most efficient use of its resources, including human resources. The article considers the components of the competitive ability of a sports organisation, which can be modified in order to improve its economic performance.
Purpose. The purpose of our study was to develop theoretical and methodological approaches to physical education and the training of sportsmen aimed at improving their competitive ability and maintaining the competitive ability of the organisation even during a crisis.
Methodology. In our study we employed the following scientific methods: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, abstraction, formalisation, information collection, observation, and expert evaluation methods.
Conclusions.
A sports organisation is a complex system, and each element affects its competitive ability. However, the key factor is the competitive ability of the sportsmen employed by the organisation.
