The intellectual component of Russian creative industries during their formation

Subject. Russian creative industries offer growth potential for Russian economy in the medium and long term. The study of the intellectual component of creative industries is an independent area of theoretical and practical research. The article studies Russian creative industries during their formation. The subject of the research is organisational and managerial aspects arising in this period in terms of their correlation with the all-Russian classifier of types of economic activity and the analysis of their intellectual component.
Purpose. Determination of the intellectual component of the Russian creative industries during their formation based on the research approach. Bibliometric and comparative analysis of Russian creative industries during their formation by the level of the intellectual component.
Method: analysis, synthesis, and classification. Research materials included: research papers (publications, patents) in the Scientific Electronic Library (ESL) by international and Russian researchers in the areas of specific creative industries and intellectual property; materials by the consulting and legal support system “ConsultantPlus” in the field of regulation of economic activities in accordance with the all-Russian classifier of economic activities; results of the “Agencies for Strategic Initiatives” project, “Atlas of Creative Industries in the Russian Federation” (2021).
Results: identification of five creative Russian industries with a high intellectual component: education, architecture, software, entertainment, archives; determination of the need to provide legal regulation of concepts: “fashion”, “museums and galleries”, “discos and nightclubs, recreation centres”, “new media”, “copyright law” (the name used by the developers of the project “Atlas of creative industries in the Russian Federation”). The research is a scientific novelty as it: (a) develops an original research approach to the analysis of the intellectual component of Russian creative industries, comparative analysis of the Russian creative industries by the level of the intellectual component which consists of the analysis of thirty-five branches of the Russian creative industries by two indicators: the availability of publications indexed in the ESL and availability of patents, including computer programs and database certificates at the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (Rospatent) indexed in the ESL; (b) analyses the intellectual component of Russian creative industries using the developed approach.
