This article explores the concept of semantic (mental) warfare, describes the channels for achieving results and goals related to the capture of virtual and cognitive space and its programming, leading to a change in cultural and historical codes and the destruction of traditional mental values. It has been established that the infl uence of destructive manipulative propaganda technologies used by modern Ukrainian political elites has led to the formation of destructive value ideals that affi rm the equality of state and nationalist symbols. Russian Russians have been increasingly infl uenced by information and psychology and introduced a package of measures called “culture of abolition” that has helped to form an understanding of the importance of the ideas of Russian Orthodox culture, which has traditionally been the basis of national identifi cation and the main factor in winning the war of meanings. It is noted that the Russian language is the means of forming the Russian national identity, the concern for which has now come to the fore. Russian Russian language is considered to be a complex of measures aimed at improving the status of the Russian language in the regulatory and mass media fi eld of Russian society, as well as at supporting the Russian language and spreading the values of Russian national culture in the world. The conclusion is made about the importance of preserving the Russian language as a factor of victory in the modern mental war: separated from the cultural and historical heritage and the system of traditional values, a person begins to form his semantic basis without connection with his own national identity.
