Abstract

Importance: еhis article is devoted to the study of the concept of «lean production» from its origins to the current stage of its development. Purpose: identification and analysis of evidence of the implementation of lean production ideas in Russia and, in particular, in the Voronezh region. Research design: the authors identify the main milestones in the formation of the concept of «lean production», starting from the Venetian Arsenal, which actually already used in-line production. The notes created by A. Gastev and O. Yermansky were further developed in the theories of F. Taylor, H. Ford. Based on previous developments, Japanese specialists T. Ono, E. Toyoda and K. Toyoda have developed a new system, which is now called Toyota Production System (TPS). J. Krafcik, D. Jones and J. Wumek developed the Japanese system in 1990 and finally formulated all the principles of the Lean Manufacturing concept. Results: the problems of implementing the concept of lean manufacturing in modern technologically and economically difficult conditions are identified, in particular, it suggests the use of functional cost analysis as an effective tool for «lean production». The Government of the Russian Federation has developed standards and recommendations for the application of lean production methods, which served as a methodological basis for the application of the concept in the Russian economy. Examples of the development of the concept of lean manufacturing in the Voronezh Region are shown using the example of the Voronezh Region Efficiency Center, the Regional Competence Center and Lean Government.
