In the article the necessity of cooperation of industrial enterprises and the university in the knowledge economy is considered. According to the author, a key component of the integration of teaching, research and production is the information environment of the university. Among the major activities for the organization of interaction between enterprises and the university environment in the information requested to organize the formation of virtual centers of competence in order to develop a knowledge management system of the university
