MEDICAL AND DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION IN VORONEZH REGION

Abstract

Nowadays hypertension has become a formidable challenge with which the national and world health organizations are permanently facing. The study of this subject, correlated with the realities of Voronezh region has become the purpose of this paper. Implemented health and demographic characteristics of Voronezh region' patients with hypertension, are evaluated as well as rationality of assigning specific drugs. Local structure of morbidity: defined gender, age and social characteristics of patients were determined. Statistical data of recent years on social consequences of the disease were analyzed. The basic approach to pharmacotherapy used in the region was correlated with current standards of treatment. Conclusions about the possibility of improving drug supply of patients with this pathology by rationalizing prescribing were made.
