Problem aspects of sustainable development of coastal areas

Abstract

Purpose: the article is devoted to the problem of managing the development of coastal zones of the Russian Federation with certain characteristics compared to other management areas. Discussion: human activities and worsening environmental problems of vital importance for the development of coastal areas have led to the emergence and development the methodological approach - Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM). The implementation of this approach in Russia, of course, has its own characteristics. Results: recommendations about the use of ICZM in the management of the Russian coastal areas. It is proved that the planning of socio-economic development of the Sakhalin region should be based on rationalization of interregional and international cooperation. We showed our country benefits with displacement vector of political and economic interests of Russia and the Asia-Pacific region to the Far East.
