Innovative activity in agriculture:current condition and trends for development

Abstract

Purpose: in this article, we consider some questions of a current state assessment of innovative development of agriculture in Russia and show the main directions of its development. Discussion: we show that labor productivity growth and agricultural products cost decreasing testify are connected to agriculture in Russia innovative development. However, modernization of agricultural production is carried out insufficiently effectively. In addition, the material base of the majority of the agricultural organizations does not allow them to carry out production on an innovative basis. These factors reduce competitiveness of Russian agricultural products. Results: based on system approach to innovation process we suggest a certain actions (including investment activity stimulation) for acceleration of innovative development of Russian agriculture.
