Regional aspects of innovation development

Abstract

Purpose: assessment of the potential of innovative development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the active policy of import substitution. Discussion: this article describes main characteristics of high-tech and innovative products. Also it includes analysis of innovation indicators of several regions in the Siberian Federal District, e.g. the proportion of high-tech and science-based products in the gross regional product and the coefficient of inventive activity. The article describes the structure of expenditures for technological innovation and the proportion of innovative products in different sectors of the regional economy. Results: main development trends have been evaluated. The article describes strong and weak of regional innovation policy. Different tools which successfully used in regions with the highest innovation activity (Tomsk and Novosibirsk regions) have been identified. The paper includes recommendations for using of these tools in the innovation policy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
