Integrated assessment of regional demographical security

Abstract

Purpose: the authors deal with the assessment of Belgorod region demographic security with the help of the integrated indicator. The subject of the research is the system of statistical indicators, which characterize the main demographic threats. Discussion: due to the fact that nowadays there is no unified methodological tool for assessing demographic security, the authors propose comprehensive assessment based on the consolidated integral indicator. This integral indicator includes a set of private indicators, which are calculated in the context of individual demographic threats. The authors present a scale of threshold values of indicators of demographic security to assess the level of demographic security. Results: the analysis determined the level of demographic security in the region, identified the main demographic threats in Belgorod region. The article proposes measures aimed at elimination of demographic threats and stabilization of the demographic situation in the region.
