Abstract

Purpose : the aim is to summarize theoretical and methodological approaches in assessing the efficiency of environmental-economic systems, to determine the prospects for their use in planning the directions and ways of their use and development. Discussion : assessment of quantitative parameters of ecological-economic systems is devoted to numerous works, which present significant achievements in this field of scientific research: proposals for a set of specific indicators of said sustainability; The identification of their social, economic and environmental subgroups; Determination of vectors of influence of factors on state of natural systems; Proposals for the use of static and dynamic standards for the state of ecosystem parameters. Results : among the challenges that need to be addressed are the existence and nature of linkages between the quantitative dimensions of «sustainability», balance, «harmony» and other related characteristics of environmental-economic systems; Identification of parameters to be stored as a resource for current activities and future generations; Assessment of the possibility of implementing the systemwide principle of equifinality in the development of ecological-economic systems, the levels of changes in systems after which their irreversible transformation takes place, the establishment of quantitative parameters of ecological-economic systems at different stages of their development.
