Abstract

Purpose: the Fundamental goal of the research of regional airports in the Central Federal district is to develop practical recommendations for the development of ground-based air transport infrastructure (airports) in the context of the macroeconomic crisis. Discussion: macroeconomic instability caused by the temporary suspension of international air traffic, as well as the introduction of a number of restrictive measures in the system of domestic passenger air transport will cause the market to fall in the period 2020-2021. Taking into account the European experience of overcoming the global financial crisis of 2008 by the passenger air transport market, the Russian air transport market can successfully overcome the crisis period by developing the direction of budget air transport and expanding the interregional route network. Results: regional airports of the Central Federal district, according to the results of 2019, have an extremely low congestion rate, while they have the ability to repeatedly increase passenger traffic. An important factor in the development of the air transport market is the availability of air tickets. The analysis of the pricing policy of budget airlines «easyJet» (Great Britain) and «Fly Arystan» (Republic of Kazakhstan) demonstrates the availability of air travel, which, in turn, is a determining factor in the popularity of budget airlines.
