To the question of the essence of the urban socio-economic development strategy

Abstract

Purpose: to research of the essence of the urban socio-economic development strategy. Discussion: Existing development trends and conditions that determine the nature of global processes in the foreseeable future indicate an unprecedented increase in the turbulence of the development of socio-economic systems. To a large extent, this also applies to urban districts, as centers of economic and innovative development, in which about 75% of the country's population lives. One of the tools that allows the city to effectively overcome challenges, taking into account the growing uncertainty of the external environment, is the socio-economic development strategy, which determines the relevance of the study. Results: The author considered the significant characteristics of the development strategy inherent in any socio-economic system; the existing approaches to the definition of the strategy of socio-economic development of the municipality (urban district) are revealed, their strengths and weaknesses are revealed; the author's definition of the strategy of social and economic development of the urban district is proposed.
