Abstract

Purpose: determine the role of the legislature in the development of small business in the region and analyze the completeness of individual measures taken to stimulate the development of small business, both by the state and by regional authorities. Discussion: theoretical analysis using separate data from official statistics made it possible to study the opinions of various authors on the support of small businesses by regional authorities. Results: despite the role assigned to small business in the economy of both the region and Russia as a whole, as well as the support measures taken by the state, there is a very unstable picture of the development of small enterprises. The lack of a single mechanism for helping small business does not contribute to its development.
