Application of the twosided markets theory for university department teaching workload distribution
Abstract
Purpose: the article discusses the possibilities of automating the process of distributing the educational load between the teachers of the department using mathematical models. Discussion: the process of distributing the educational load of the department is performed manually and is quite time-consuming because the distribution must take into account the formal requirements, as well as the preferences of the faculty regarding the disciplines offered to them for the upcoming academic year. The greatest attention in the distribution is proposed to be paid to taking into account the wishes of both teachers and the department, since the department also has an idea of which of the teachers to appoint to a particular discipline. Results: the author proposes a mathematical model based on bilateral markets, which allows to obtain the most equitable distribution of the load of the department, as well as to take into account the formal requirements for distribution. The results of numerical calculations confirm the possibility of applying the developed model of load distribution of the department.
