THE PLACE AND THE ROLE OF SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONES IN THE GULF STATES ECONOMY

Abstract

Purpose: comparative research of the formation of special economic zones infrastructure in Gulf States and assessment of their influence on economy of the countries in the region. Discussion: the author carried out the complex analysis of special economic zones in the considered region. The main tendencies and the directions of their development in the states of the Persian Gulf are shown. Results: the role and the place of special economic zones in the economy of energy resources exporting countries of the Middle East are defined. Need of the formation of special economic zones infrastructure for the region for the purpose of diversification of national economies and decrease in dependence on export of energy resources is proved.
