Peculiarities of social and economic problems of monotenes of The Central Federal District
Abstract
Purpose: to study regional socio-economic problems of single-industry towns in the Central Federal district. Discussion: the Central Federal district of the Russian Federation is traditionally one of the territories with a high level of efficiency of socio-economic processes and significant development rates. At the same time, the district presents a variety of locations that are significantly differentiated both in terms of economic potential and infrastructure opportunities, as well as in the direction and trends of socio- economic dynamics, including single-industry towns with a specific set of local and regional problems. Results: the result of the author's study of the socio-economic situation of the 56 towns of the Central Federal district was composed score rating, the analysis of which allows to allocate three rating groups: the first group form a 5 mono stable socio-economic situation; the second, 42 single-industry towns with the unstable socio-economic situation; third – 9 single-industry towns with depressed and potentially dangerous socio-economic situation. It is proved that the study should be supplemented with a study of the mood and expectations of the population of single-industry towns, since this will allow more accurately identify those problem areas that need priority intervention of public authorities.
