The government role in creating national innovation systems of developing counries
Abstract
Purpose: the purpose of the research is a comparative analysis of the formation and development of national innovation systems (NIS) of three developing coun-tries: India, South Korea and Saudi Arabia. Discussion: аt present, the govern-ment’s economic policy pays special attention to developing the national innova-tion system. The experience of developing countries shows that innovations intro-duction in various areas of the economy as a whole has a positive effect on eco-nomic growth and affects the welfare of the state. The paper analyzes the devel-opment of the education and financial systems, research institutes and the indus-trial sector of the three countries within the framework of state development plans, identifies the main directions of state policy and the characteristic features of the NIS. The relevance of the study is associated with the important role of NIS in the socio-economic development of countries, and therefore, the need to analyze posi-tive and negative aspects of the NIS development. Results: a comparative analysis of the national innovation systems of developing countries shows that state innova-tion policy is aimed at intensifying innovation and further economic growth. The study revealed both similar and various aspects of the process of NIS formation.
