Abstract

Subject: food security is one of the key components of ensuring political, socio-economic and social stability in the country. Today, the system of national food security is subject to serious changes and transformation (restrictive measures of sectoral sanctions), which is why, on the part of state management structures, it is necessary to develop adequate measures (mechanisms and tools) aimed at maintaining a stable trend of sustainable development of the national agricultural sector and the food industry. Purpose: to assess the level of the national food security system in the context of the application of sectoral sanctions, the transformation of world markets and the escalation of military-political and economic confrontation between the leading states. Research design: assuming that in the near and strategic prospects, the food complex will play an exceptional role in the system of national security of Russia, the authors propose to assess the current situation of food independence of our country with the definition of key tasks in the aspect of the application of restrictive measures to the Russian Federation in the form of sectoral sanctions. All this will allow a more objective assessment of the current situation, highlight the key aspects of the development of the agro-industrial complex and the food industry, as well as opportunities and threats at the current moment and in the long term. Results: the authors obtained reliable data on the food independence of our country. The results of the study proved that Russia today has high indicators of self-provision of food, agricultural raw materials and food, and the applied model of organization and management of the national food complex copes very effectively with the challenges of the current moment.
