Abstract

Purpose: to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which weakened the economy of the Russian Federation, on the development of the credit market in Russia. Discussion: аssuming that the impact of the coronavirus epidemic had a negative impact on the entire economy of the state, in particular on the credit sector, the authors carry out a detailed analysis of changes in the main indicators of the state of the credit market in 2020. The monthly dynamics of indicators and trends in the loan market during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the possible reasons for the identified changes, are presented. Results: the authors identified the main trends in the lending market, explained the reasons for their appearance. The results of the conducted economic studies have confirmed the negative impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the credit market of the Russian Federation in 2020.
