Abstract

Purpose: the aim of the study is to present a model for the development of the route network of the Kazakh budget airline "Fly Arystan", in the context of overcoming the crisis caused by the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Discussion: the study was based on the analysis of the fleet of aircraft of the airline "Fly Arystan", a comparative analysis of the current route network of the airline as of February 2020 and January 2021, a comparative analysis of the airline's pricing policy for June 2020 and January 2021. Results: the result of the study is the construction of a model for the prospective development of the route network of the airline "Fly Arystan", taking into account the analysis of the route network of the leading national air carriers "Air Astana" and " SCAT". As a promising scenario for the development of the airline "Fly Arystan", in the context of overcoming the macroeconomic crisis of 2020, the conclusion is presented on the need to create hubs (base) airports of the airline on the basis of the largest regional airports of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Kostanay, Turkestan. When implementing plans to create hubs on the basis of regional airports in Kostanay, Turkestan, the airline "Fly Arystan" will significantly expand the existing route network and become the leading budget airline in the region.
