Morden state of Moldovan economics and perspectivies of trade cooperation with Russia

Abstract

Purpose: the article highlights the dynamics of the economical development of Moldova before and after the collapse of the USSR, relations with partner countries, in particular, with Russia. Existing problems are identified and compared to other countries with similar economies. Trends in the development of the main economic indicators are presented. Discussion: the flow of investments into the country’s economy, support and interest of external partners in the development of the region is being investigated. The impact of Moldovan products on the Russian markets is highlighted, historical prerequisites for cooperation between countries are considered, Russian significance for Moldova in the spheres of energy security and food exports is noted despite the significant economic imbalance in relations between countries, a detailed description of the range of goods is carried out, the impact of the pandemic on the economy is studied, as well as the effectiveness of the government’s multi-vector policy. Results: based on the data obtained, conclusions are drawn about the prospects for further development of the republic’s economy both in the direction of Russia and in the direction of the countries of the European Union.
