Тhe article is devoted to the consideration of fi gurative means representing music in the literary texts of Anthony Burgess. The purpose of the work is to identify and describe lexical units used in the literary texts of A. In this study we are guided by the theory of conceptual metaphor considering the imaginative representation of music in the works of Anthony Burgess. Music in the literary texts of A. Burgess is represented by a wide range of fi gurative means, classifi ed into 6 main topics: "human world," "world of man-made objects," "food," "supernatural," "nature," "fl ora and fauna." The following types of metaphors stand out: anthropomorphic, artefact, gastronomic, naturomorphic, theological, hydronymic, zoonic, gender somatic, etc. Music is endowed with many human features: moral, psychological, physiological, spiritual, etc. The imaginative presentation of music in the individual-and-author's world image emphasizes its penetration into all spheres of human life and close relationship with it. It is noted that in the works of A. Burgess, the sources of creating musical images are mainly the anthropological and material sphere. The images of music in the individualand-author's world image are characterized by both positive and negative labeling that emphasizes the powerful impact of music on the emotional state of a person, as listening to a piece of music a person cannot remain indiff erent.
