Synthesis and research of physical and chemical properties of the silica-based sorbent modified with copper malonate for gas-chromatography

Abstract

A new sorbent based on Silochrom C-120 grafted with a layer of copper malonate by successive assembly on the surface through a stage of chlorination of silica was synthesized for gas adsorption chromatography. Textural characteristics of the sorbent, it’s thermal stability were studied. Acid-base properties of sorbents were investigated and changing the content of the donor-acceptor centers on the surface SiO2 before and after modification was determined. The parameters of the chromatographic retention of test compounds, polarity and selectivity of the sorbents were evaluated.
.It was demonstrated that chelate packing chromatographic material could be used for separating mixtures of aliphatic and olefinic hydrocarbons, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, aldehydes and ketones.
