Abstract

Determination of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) in the mayonnaise samples by ion-pair
RP HPLC with spectrophotometric detection was investigated. Extraction of EDTA was performed with
phosphate buffered solution (pH = 7.5). For spectrophotometric registration was prepared complex with
ferric chloride (III). Chromatographic separation was performed on a reverse phase column in isocratic
elution mode, in mobile phase was added to an ion-pair reagent - tetrabutylammonium hydroxide. Detection
wavelength 255 nm.
