Who Had Discovered Gas Chromatography?

Abstract

The introductory brief article of this issue of the Journal is presented to attract the attention of our readers to very interesting two articles devoted to the history of the creation of gas chromatography. The first one written by a group of authors including academician Yu.A.Zolotov, has just been published in the Journal of Chromatography. The second article, by Yu.A.Zolotov and prof. I.A.Revelskiy, is now in press in the Journal of Analytical Chemistry. Investigation conducted by authors have shown that long before 1952, considered as the year of the discovery of gas-liquid chromatography by A.Martin and A. James, gas-adsorption chromatography had been arose. Soviet scientists M.M. Senyavin and others had played a big role in this history.
