Assistance to employment of disabled people as one of characteristics of society of equal opportunities

Abstract

On the base of the analysis of Russian sociological studies the article defines that people with disabilities observe employment opportunity as one of the major conditions of successful socialization. The article reviews economic losses caused by disability, presents a broad characteristic of people with disabilities as a heterogeneous segment of the population. The study proves the practicability of application of the differentiated social support principle concerning people with disabilities for reducing economic losses caused by disablement, optimizing public expenditures and increasing their efficiency. The article presents a model of employment promotion for the disabled as one of the elements of the targeted social support system.
