Solution of fundamental problems of synthesis and directed regulation of the functional properties of oxide multicomponent magnetic materials, including nanostructures; calculation methods for predicting the composition of nanodispersed phases with a maximum magnetization on the basis of data on the distribution of magnetic ions over different crystallographic positions and the exchange interaction between them, taking into account the magnitudes of the magnetic moments of electron spins; development of materials for the manufacture of electronic products in chip design; physicochemistry of the processes occurring during the synthesis of inorganic materials at the nanoscale level.

Repeatedly since 1981 - conducted research and teaching at the Massachusetts University (USA), the Institute of Physics (Grenoble, France), the Institute of Metal Physics (Krakow, Poland), the Crystallography Laboratory and the Magnetism Laboratory of the National Center for Scientific Research (France), in the institutions of Germany and the Czech Republic.
Participated in international grants for programs INTAS, NATO, ISTC.
2010-2014 - received projects in the ERASMUS MUNDUS program (University of Bordeaux, Humboldt University, Berlin, Polytechnic University of Turin, Institute of Condensed Material Chemistry, France), NATO CLG program.
