Modulation of sorbates resolution selectivity by supramolecular complexes formation in a mobile phase
Abstract
Dependence of natural phenolic acids of benzoic and cinnamic acids derivatives series retention
upon mobile phase β-cyclodextrin additions in RP HPLC has been investigated. It was found that addition
of p-hydroxy group results in increase of stability constant of the β-cyclodextrine : phenolic acid (1:1)
complex. Though addition of m-hydroxy of m-methoxy groups course the decrease of the constant. The
steric factors proved to be responsible for the complex stability.
