Abstract

Factors of choice of unregistered form of employment are considered in the article. Empirical estimates have been made using the binary choice models for cross-sections and panel data of the Russia Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (RLMS-HSE) for the period of 1998-2007. It was confi rmed the assumption that the most of unregistered employees were pushed out from the other occupations and in the cases of available alternatives they would not choose the informal status.
