Semantics of explicit communicative demonstrativeness

The article discusses the phenomenon of communicative demonstrativeness. The purpose of the study is to defi ne the concept of explicit communicative demonstrativeness and to identify the linguistic means of its expression. An interdisciplinary approach and the method of psycholinguistic analysis of the communicants' speech output are used. The material for the analysis was the statements of the participants from the 2012–2023 television interviews. It is established that explicit communicative demonstrativeness is a tonality of interaction, which is distinguished by a vivid and direct representation of the speaker's own image, exaggeration of his important qualities, emphasis on the prevailing emotion, actualized at all language levels and implemented in speech products through the use of a variety of linguistic and non-linguistic means. The means of this tonal variety, by which the narrative producer maintains his image, are: hyperbolic tropes, cliches, borrowed words, positive epithets, the pronoun «everything» and the adjective «anyone» with a generalizing meaning (ostentatious communicative personality); affected verbal behavior, direct gaze, speech with pressure, pausing, vowel predominance [u], [yu], fricayives [sh] [shch] [ch], sonorants [m], [n], [r], a series of rhetorical questions, phraseological units, words with negative connotation, proverbs (dominant communicative personality); active use of gestures, direct eye contact, rapid speech, expressive syntax, speech strategies, references to an authoritative source and contradictions, reiteration (argumentative communicative personality); hyperbolic tropes, negative connotation, substandard expressive means, obscene vocabulary, anaphora, intensifying particles, rhetorical questions, sarcasm, irony, pun, high screeching timbre of voice, frequent use of vowel combinations [u] – [a], [y] – [a], [o] – [a] and consonants [s] – [r] to rise above the addressee, the speech strategy of humiliation, rhetorical questions, exclamatives (confl ict communicative personality). The results obtained can be used in the course of semiotics and psycholinguistics.
