General Information

«Proceedings of Voronezh State University. Series: Linguistics and Intercultural Communication» is a quarterly scientific journal that publishes original research papers in Russian and English on the problems of theoretical and applied linguistics, translation studies and reviews of books on languages and linguistics. The journal accepts full-length articles, shorter commentary pieces and book reviews. Articles previously published or under consideration by other journals are not accepted.

The journal is intended for scientists, professor-teacher structure, graduate students, students, staffs of the production organizations.

Starting from 2019 the journal is indexed in the EBSCO database.

The journal is included in the List of Peer-reviewed Scientific Journals, entering to the international abstract databases and the systems of citing, recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science for publication of principal scientific results of competitors for scientific degrees of science’s doctor and candidate

Editorial Policy

Journal Purposes

  • representation of new achievements in the field of various aspects of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication;
  • exchange of results of researches between leading experts;
  • publication of results of researches of young scientists

The journal accepts articles on linguistics and intercultural communication (branches of study: 10.02.19 – Theory of Language, 10.02.20 – Comparative Linguistics and Linguistic Typology; 10.02.21 – Applied and Computational Linguistics; 10.02.01 – Russian Language Studies, 10.02.02 – Languages of the Russian Federation; 10.02.03 – Slavic Languages; 10.02.04 – Germanic Languages; 10.02.05 – Romance Languages).

The journal publishes works of leading Russian and foreign scholars as well as papers written by young scholars and post-graduate students.

Peer-Review

Institute of reviewing of the magazine, system of the financial organization and the order of an exit of issues of the magazine provide the high scientific level of publications. Articles undergo obligatory anonymous reviewing and are checked for duplications and loans in the Antiplagiat system. By the results of verification of article can be accepted to the publication, are returned on completion or are rejected (because of discrepancy to subject of the magazine, existence of incorrect loans, etc.

The Manuscript Submitting, Review and Editorial Decision-making Process

By submitting the manuscript the author agrees to its publication in the free-access Scientific Online Library eLIBRARY.

  1. The executive editor checks the manuscript for its completeness, thematic adequacy and its compliance with the journal requirements. If the paper fails to meet submission requirements, it can be rejected.
  2. The executive secretary notifies the author(s) about the results of peer-review by e-mail. No personal comments shall be added to the reviews.
  3. All manuscripts are subjects to blind peer-review. The name(s) of the reviewers are not disclosed to authors.
  4. To review submitted articles, the editorial board appoints independent reviewers who are experts in the subject field.
  5. The reviewer evaluates the compliance of the manuscript with the thematic scope of the journal, the validity and significance of the research results, the adequacy of citations and references to other sources, the style and quality of language.
  6. When the reviewer makes a recommendation regarding the paper, it is worth considering the categories the editor most likely uses for classifying the article:
    • Reject (give reasons)
    • Accept without revision
    • Revise (either major or minor)
  7. The revised paper is registered and sent for a subsequent review. The author is strongly recommended to include a letter with comments to the reviewer’s critique.
  8. Rejected papers shall not be considered for publication.

Open Access

In order to attract the largest possible audience of specialists for an extensive (including critical) discussion of the published articles, as well as to put into practice the results of research, the journal follows the "Platinum" model of full open access to publications. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, and print the full texts of the journal's papers

The journal «Proceedings of Voronezh State University. Series: Linguistics and Intercultural Communication» offers its readers a subscription. The subscription index of the journal in the online catalogue «Russian Post» is ПН102.
