Entrepreneurial climate in the agriculture of the Leningrad Region: status and dynamics of assessments in the small agribusiness sector
Abstract
Subject. Status, dynamics and factors determining the satisfaction with the entrepreneurial climate in the small agribusiness sector of Leningrad region.
Purposes. To establish the degree of satisfaction with the entrepreneurial climate in the small agribusiness sector of the Leningrad region. To identify the state of the entrepreneurial environment and the specifics of its assessment’s dynamics with the subsequent disclosure of the reasons for the results obtained.
Methodology. To achieve the goal theoretical (analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction) and empirical (observation) research methods, as well as abstract-logical, monographic and economic-statistical methods of cognition were used. We based the assessment of the entrepreneurial climate in this paper on the empirical data obtained by the questionnaire survey of small agribusinesses in the Leningrad region over a ten-year period, with a frequency of almost once every three years.
Results. We discovered that in 2023 the small agribusiness in the Leningrad region, in general, were not satisfied with the industry’s existing conditions of activity. The paper reveals the reasons for this level of satisfaction, as well as its dynamics since 2013.
Conclusions. The current situation in the region is not conducive to boosting results in the small agribusiness sector and unlocking the potential of small agribusiness entities in solving the problems of sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas of the Leningrad region.
