The article presents the results of the analysis of candidate and doctoral dissertations defended in the Dissertation Council 212.038.16 in the specialty Romance and Germanic languages in 2017-2021. The problems of the conducted research, their relevance, scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance are considered in detail. The contribution of the authors to the deepening of the most important problems of interest for the development of modern paradigms of the science of language is noted: cognitive linguistics, conceptology, linguoculturology, discourse pragmatics, text linguistics, dialectology, word formation. The author emphasizes the use of original analysis methods developed by the authors, the correct approbation of the research tools they propose in the analysis of representative empirical materials, which ensures the novelty and validity of the results obtained.
