Abstract

the article discusses the forms and methods of state regulation of socio-economic development of Russian regions. Their strengths and weaknesses, possible positive consequences and limitations are noted. Proposal of the complex of measures of state regulation with a specific functional orientation. Includ- ing: meeting the conditions of old industrial, depressed and in critical situation regions; focused on the development of special economic zones, especially – formed in the border regions; regulating activities in the environmental sphere, the system of national and interethnic relations.
