The article substantiates the relevance of the problem of research and evaluation of distance employment in Russia. The results of the survey of remote workers are presented, their analysis and evaluation is carried out. Based on the fi ndings, the main directions for improving distance employment in the region are proposed, aimed at strengthening distance work in the formal sector
