Abstract

Historical lexicology is an important area that helps to understand the processes occurring in language. Within this research, an experiment is conducted on the systematic stratification of the vocabulary of a text, aimed at studying the history of the lexical-semantic system of the Russian language. The goal of the experiment is to analyze which words belong to the core vocabulary of the language and which are peripheral. The article proposes specific methods and tools that allow implementing a parametric analysis of the vocabulary of the Russian language based on texts. These methods and tools make it possible to determine the most commonly used words, their contribution to the formation of the lexical system, and to identify words with the greatest semantic significance in the Russian language. They also allow us to understand how this lexical system has changed over time and infl uenced the development of the language. Parametric analysis of vocabulary by texts is based on the collection and analysis of textual material using computer tools and includes the measurement of the weight of lexico-semantic units according to the main parameters, namely: functional, syntagmatic, derivational (epidigmatic) and paradigmatic. Thanks to these methods and tools, it becomes possible to more accurately assess changes in the lexical system of the language and identify key moments in its development. Historical lexicology and parametric analysis of vocabulary by texts are important tools that help us better understand the language in its current development, as well as its evolution. These studies provide an opportunity to get deeper into the essence of language and its changes over time.
